New logo and redesigned website
We had been looking for some time about updating our logo. It was the first logo we had since we started in 2015, so Ian, being a signmaker before set about updating the look and the colour. After many revisions we settled on this version. We feel that although it still has a similar feel, it is much improved with updated colours and a more modern feel. The whole design process was about 1 month before we were totally happy. Along side with that we wanted to update the website as well to reflect the new design. The last re-design we did was back in 2020 and as technology and requirements for google listings had changed, we started noticing some slight issues with colours not being shown correctly or clicking on a certain colour didnt change the selection etc so we stripped the whole site don and rebuilt it with a lot more modern code. The actual design was done by Ian again and the process took 3 months on and off. The whole focus is the customers experience using the site. Although most of our customers (70%) use the site on mobile, there is still 28% of customers that use desktop/laptop so it is really important to make sure it works for both groups of customers. We are really happy with the results and feel that it is much better than before. It's faster, smoother, slicker and easier to find what you want. There is always room for improvement though so if you do see anything that isn't quite right or a feature that you would like to see, please just let us know and we will look into it x

We offer 2 of the most popular, Klarna & ClearPay. These are extremely popular for online purchases. Each provider works slightly differently regarding how much you can spend and what your payments are. As responsible retailers we would just like to make sure that you don't get into any financial difficulty when you choose that payment option.

Since our last blog post, a lot has happened so we jast wanted to fill you in with the latest news. Firstly we have closed our shop and moved to online only. This was a tough decision to make but unfortunately since reopening after the covid restrictions, the footfall in the town centre was not the same. This coupled with car park closures and other mismanagement issues in our shopping centre left us with no choice but to make the move online only.

What a strange few months it has been. No one could have predicted how Covid-19 has shaped our world. We have been extremely fortunate that all of us and our staff have remained free from the virus but our thoughts go out to those families that have not been so fortunate. We found ourselves in a very strange situation in March where we had shut down before the government officially ordered the lockdown. We did this to protect our staff and customers. Little did we know how long it would last. Fortunately for us, we were able to continue the website from home and both myself and Jane worked every day to keep things running as smoothly as we could. We were able to get stock delivered, put on the website and sent out by courier. We were very surprised how busy we were. In fact we were just as busy as if the shop was open. We continued with our usual Wednesday night Facebook lives from our front room and even gave away some vouchers on our quiz night. At the end of April we were starting to worry that stock would start to be an issue. Most of our items come from Italy and as you know, back then, Italy was the epicentre of the outbreak and all the factories were closed. Luckily most of our wholesalers had had the foresight and ordered plenty of stock. We were able to continue like this until the shop was allowed to reopen on the 15th June. We decided to completely redecorate the shop, put new window graphics up, change the signs as well as put in the new social distance guidelines in ready to welcome you all back. Again we were surprised how busy our first week back was and everyone that came in said how nice it was to see us and to get out and about. We have continued to stay busy up to now both in store and on the website and it has made us realise that even in this challenging retail environment, people do still like to go into shops and see the items alongside buying online and as long as that continues, we will continue to keep the shop open. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support during these difficult times. We really appreciate it. Ian & Jane x
